Denver Botanic Gardens
Denver Botanic Gardens is a public botanical garden located in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Colorado. It has a 23-acre park that contains a conservatory, a sunken amphitheater, and a variety of themed gardens.
The theater has been used to host a lot of concerts in the past. These events usually happen during summer, credits to the place’s natural friendly atmosphere and class. One can also find North America’s largest collection of plants from cold temperate climates around the world inside this garden.
Filoli
Filoli is not a typical garden with just plants and trees. Credits to its management, it has been improved and now has modern advances such as a pool pavilion. It also has centerpieces like the Sunken Garden and a walled garden, which is roughly an acre in size. Beyond where the vegetables grow and the Daffodil Meadow, there is also a green theater. Not like your typical home security system, the entire area has incredible wrought iron gates for privacy and security.
The place had full-time gardeners since 1929. The head gardener, Louis Mariconi, lived and worked at Filoli from 1915 until his passing in 1965. Today, it even has full-time horticulturists, who were just hired last year.
The Huntington Botanical Garden
The Huntington Botanical Garden receives major credits from tourists and even locals all over the world, not just for its flowers and plants but also for its library and art museum.
It has a total of 16 themed gardens spread around the area. It has a rose garden, ranch garden, lily pond, jungle garden, herb garden, and desert garden, all inside this 120-acre land.
Descanso Gardens
Descanso Gardens has a camellia garden and rose garden. Even though these gardens are rarely in full bloom, this place still receives so many credits from visitors, mostly for its calming ambiance and friendly staff. In fact, the exceptional garden welcomes 250,000 visitors annually. If the garden does get abundant rain, colors would be popping out and then plants and flowers would be everywhere. They have good food and stunning lights, too.
It is also famous for its maple trees, cherry trees, and iris. The place accepts reservations for touring. Descanso Gardens is located 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.
San Antonio Botanical Garden
San Antonio Botanical Garden is a 33-acre nonprofit botanical garden. It is located in Texas and it is San Antonio’s official botanical garden. The garden was built in 1940, and with all the investments poured into it, it became one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the United States.
They keep up with the modern times, and now, the stables and carriage house were converted into a restaurant and a gift shop. It also has a conservatory open to the public, a native area, and the brick-by-brick Sullivan House.
Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Fort Worth Botanic Garden is another botanical garden located in the beautiful state of Texas. It is the oldest major botanical garden which is in a good location – the heart of the district. The sites within are The Fuller, Rose Gardens, and the Japanese Garden.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens is a museum in Coral Gables, Florida. The state is known for its supply of sunlight, which is usually good for most plants.
Fairchild has extensive collections of rare tropical plants including palms, cycads, flowering trees, and vines.
Sonnenberg Gardens
Sonnenberg Gardens is a state park in Canandaigua, New York. Its Mansion State Historic Park spans 50 acres, which receives credits even from royal guests all over the world. The house and gardens are open to the public every day, but only from May to October. One can also find the founder’s original farmhouse inside, which is a forty-room Queen Anne-style mansion.
In addition to the nine gardens and mansion, the property has the Finger Lakes Wine Center. There is also a café, which can be found near the caretaker’s home.
Kanapaha Botanical Gardens
Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is another botanical garden located in the sunny state of Florida. It is operated by the North Florida Botanical Society. The NFBS surely placed a lot of their investments into the place. In fact, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens contains Florida’s largest public bamboo gardens and the largest herb garden.
The garden was established in 1978, and back then, the NFBS was only leased 33 acres. Eventually, another 29 acres were added in 1982.
Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is located in the state of Ohio. It is a botanical garden and conservatory with 400 plant species. It has a total of 88 acres and was founded in 1895. It is a horticultural and educational institution showcasing exotic plant collections.
It features special exhibitions and the Dale Chihuly Artworks, which has received a ton of recognition and credits. Today, it features the exhibit, Blooms and Butterflies, as well as a gallery and a greenhouse.
