When it comes to her childhood, it was undoubtedly quite a privileged life. After all, the singer is the daughter of Richard L. Simon, the co-founder of Simon & Schuster.

As a young girl, she split her time between Greenwich Village and their family estate in Connecticut. Her family is also well-connected, and Simon grew up meeting guests such as Charles Addams, Eleanor Roosevelt, and even Jackie Robinson. Despite all their wealth, however, Simon admits that she only received a small inheritance. She eventually used all of that investment money while trying to look after her mental health.
