Kristian Bush | Son of Jack and Gayle Bush
Sugarland’s other half, Kristian Bush, is also a record producer apart from being a country song singer. He was also a part of another duo, Billy Pilgrim, with his friend Andrew Hyra. The two, Hyra and Bush, founded Billy Pilgrim in 1990, which they named after the main character in Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five. Bush left both groups later on to try solo gigs, and he has since then produced three solo releases.
The singer was part of a wealthy Bush clan as his grandfather was AJ Bush, founder of the Bush Brothers and Company. Though his side of the family was given shares and investments, they sold their portion when Kristian was only a child. Growing up, Kristian spent a good fortune of his time learning various musical instruments, including the violin and the guitar. He then found comfort in the latter and used that when composing his own music.
