Kyra Sedgwick | Daughter of Henry Dwight Sedgwick V and Patricia Rosenwald

Born on August 19, 1955, Kyra Sedgwick grew up to become an actress, producer, and director. She is best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on The Closer, a TV drama series. This role is what gave her a Golden Globe in 1997 and an Emmy in 2010. Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans will also recognize her as Madeline Wuntch. While most of her work was on TV, she also appeared in a handful of movies, including The Game Plan, Singles, and What’s Cooking.

Sedgwick’s parents were investment venture capitalist Henry Dwight Sedgwick V and family therapist Patricia Rosenwald. Due to her father’s business, the young Sedgwick grew up well off. She had the chance to study in Manhattan’s Friend’s Seminary after a short attendance at Sarah Lawrence College and the University of Southern California. However, she realized later on that a college diploma was not for her, so she set her goal to be an actress.
