Dax proposed to Kristen in 2009, but the couple notably waited until same-sex marriage was legalized in California before marrying. On October 17, 2013, they married at The Beverly Hills Courthouse. They have two daughters, Lincoln Bell Shepard and Delta Bell Shepard, who were born in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
