Before he became one of America’s most beloved actors, Will smith began his stellar career as a rapper who performed with DJ Jazzy and beatboxer Ready Rock C. A studious and intelligent student, he was opposed to the idea of acquiring a college degree and pursued a career in music. He did not make a wrong decision: Smith became successful and even received a Grammy Award. When he was 25 years old, he tried out acting and debuted in the film Six Degrees of Separation.
